Hi: You can watch our show on it at
    http://www.immensepossibilities.org/ipr-podcasts/making-our-water/
or Wikipedia’s definition is pretty good:
Rainwater harvesting is the accumulating and storing of rainwater for reuse before it reaches the aquifer. It has been used to provide drinking water, water for livestock, water for irrigation, as well as other typical uses. Rainwater collected from the roofs of houses and local institutions can make an important contribution to the availability of drinking water. It can supplement the subsoil water level and i increase urban greenery…

    Best, Jeff

Have you found a paint product for roofing that is weather resistant as well as non toxic for water collection? We currently collect rain water off our studio that has a riggly tin roof. We will be replacing the porch roof with hardy board which will need painting. Thank you.
